Uganda Martyrs University Uganda Martyrs University invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following full-time positions  Post of Lecturer - Faculty of Health Sciences (1 Vacancy) The candidate should be qualified in Health Promotion and Education. S/He should have at least a Master's Degree. A background in a health profession and previous experience in Health Promotion work or teaching at tertiary level will be added advantages. S/He should be competent in teaching and curriculum development. S/He should be capable of teaching adult learners. Duties of the lecturer will involve: teaching students of the various health management courses in the faculty, with focus on the Diploma in Health Promotion and Education; participation in curriculum review and improvement; research and publication; and participation in other activities in the life of the faculty and the university. S/He will report to the Head, Department of Health Promotion and be answereable to the faculty board and other relevant university structures.  Administrator - Department of Microfinance (1 Vacancy)  The candidate must be a holder of a university degree in Business disciplines, preferably Finance. S/He should possess good IT skills, a good team player with hands-on approach to work. S/He must have excellent organisational skills. S/He will be responsible to the head of department and assist with the administration of all the micro-finance programmes run by the department, keep records of students enrolled in the microfinance programmes, distribute modules, collect assignments and ensure that marking is done by the tutors.  General Manager - Equator Valley Farm (1 Vacancy) This position is open to canddiates holding a Master's Degree. The candidate should be capable of leading and working with. S/He will see to the proper planning, management and development of the university farm. The Farm is both a teaching instrument linked to the Faculty of Agriculture and a commercial venture destined to supply the university with basic products, as well as assist the surrounding farming community in improving their agricultural skills. Experience in the fields of Agriculture, Agribusiness, and Farm Management will be an added advantage.  Laboratory Technician - Faculty of Building Technology and Architecture (1 Vacancy) The candidate should have at least a Higher National Diploma in construction, mechanical engineering or building and civil engineering. S/He should have a technician certificate with experience and basic knowledge in Lab equipment (hydraulics and mechanics) operation and maintenance. S/He will be responsible to the Engineering Lecturer - in charge under whose supervision the following tasks will be carried out: Materials Testing; Conducting practical sessions in the Lab; General Maintenance and upkeep of Lab; and student guidance in use of the Lab. Computer literacy will be an added advantage.  Assistant Estates Officer (1 Vacancy) The candidate should have at least a University Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. S/He should have experience in a large establishment in the same field with knowledge in Strategic Planning, budgeting and project management. S/he must be computer literate. S/he will be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor and will assist in identifying, planning, control and coordinating all estates functions of the university. S/he will be responsible for estates related matters, prepare budgets for renovation and construction, repair and maintenance of university buildings, motor vehicles, equipment and machinery.  Assistant Systems Administrator - ICT Department (1 Vacancy)  The candidate should have at least a minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science or physical science from a recognised university. Possession of a relevant IT certification like CCNA will be an added advantage. Required experience. A minimum of three years working experience working with managing and maintaining computer networks. Required skills include: familiarity with the following platforms and areas of expertise - Linux Server OS(SuSE); and Sendmail and Squid Proxy Server Configuration. Demonstrated understanding and proficiency of recent networking, internet technologies and ability to maintain awareness of current technologies and trends within these areas.  Hardware Technician - ICT Department (1 Vacancy) The candidate should at least have a minimum of a diploma in computer science. Possession of a relevant IT certification like A+ or CCNA will be an added advantage. Required experience includes: A minimum of two years working experience working with maintaining, repairing and upgrading computers. The required skills are: familiarity with installation and troubleshooting of Linux operating systems, software maintenance and upgrade. Possession of networking skills will be an added advantage.  Front Desk Officer - University Reception (1 Vacancy) The person must be a graduate of a recognised Secretarial College or have at least a Diploma in Secretarial Studies with secretarial experience in a busy environment (record keeping, filling, computer skills).
