Uganda martyrs university fees structure 2012/2013 Mbuye Farm School Diploma Program was born in 2006 with the approval of accreditation from Uganda Martyrs University. This means that it meets all the standards for deliveing quality education and its awards are fully recognised and comparable to those other of public high institution of learning.  Mbuye Farm School started 20 years ago by Masaka diocese with support from German Friends. It is located at Lusolo LC 1 village, 2 km off Lwanda trading centre on Kyotera-Rakai road, Lwanda sub-county, Kooki county in Rakai District.  Course Objectives:  The school will pursue the following course objectives to achieve the goal and work towards realisation of its mission:     1. to provide high quality education, designed to meet current demands of the agricultural sector    2. to prepare students to be self-reliant in their future service    3. to disseminate agricultural knowledge for modernisation, improved productivity and profitability of agriculture    4. to collaborate with Advanced Institutions and Universities, Non-governmental organisations (NGOs), Community Based Organisations (CBOs), Networks and individual enterprise with a stake in developing sustainable agriculture   Academic Program:  The program includes the following courses:     1. Diploma in general agriculture    2. Diploma in animal husbandry    3. Diploma in organic agriculture    4. other short courses due to start in 2007/2008 academic year   Courses Structure and Duration:  The programm shall be run on a semester system where the academic year (code named year 1 or 2) shall be composed of two (2) semesters starting in September.   The whole course shall therefore take a total of 4 semesters. A semester shall be 18 weeks with 16 weeks being for teaching and 2 weeks for examinations.     Admission Requirements:  Admission to the program shall be done in accordance wih Mbuye Farm School and Uganda Martyrs University regulations and targets students with the following requirements:  -         Junior Certificate in Tropical Agriculture or Organic Agriculture from recognised agriculture training institutions (Farm Schools)  -         National Certificate in Agriculture from national agricultural colleges  -         UACE Certificate (minimum 1 principal pass and 2 subsidiary passes in biological sciences in UACE at the same sitting) or its equivalent     Student Enrolment:  There are 21 students in year one, of which 8 are females and 13 males, who are all full time and resident at the school campus.  The school now has a capacity of accomodating up to 100 students for 2007/2008 academic year intake.   Payments:  Students pay 400.000 Ush, which include accomodation, tuition fees and all meals charges per semester.   Training Facilities:  The following are the facilities available for teaching and skills training:  Laboratory, Farm, Field Trips, Outreach program, Computers, Library and Internet     Legal status of the program:  The program is fully accredited to Uganda Martyrs University thus making us award a Diploma with difference.     For further information contact:  The Registrar  Mbuye Farm School Dipoma Program  P.O.Box 70, Kyotera  Phone: 0772 991810
